LDPE Specification

Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a synthetic resin using a high-pressure process via free radical polymerization
of ethylene and is therefore also called “high-pressure polyethylene”. Since its molecular chain has many long and
short branches, LDPE is less crystalline than high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and its density is lower. It features
light, flexible, good freezing resistance, and impact resistance. chemically stable. It has good resistance to
acids (except strongly oxidizing acids), alkali, salt, and excellent electrical insulation properties. Its vapor penetration
rate is low. high fluidity and good processability. It is suitable for use in all types of thermoplastic
processing processes, such as injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, roto molding, coating, foaming,
thermoforming, hot-jet welding, and thermal welding.

Low-density polyethylene advantage

Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a versatile plastic with several advantages that make it widely used across various applications. Here are some key features:

  1. Flexibility: LDPE is highly flexible and has good elongation properties, making it suitable for applications where flexibility is crucial, such as plastic films and bags.
  2. Chemical Resistance: LDPE is resistant to many chemicals, making it suitable for packaging various substances, including household chemicals and pharmaceutical products.
  3. Impact Resistance: LDPE exhibits excellent impact resistance, making it a preferred choice for applications that require durability and the ability to withstand rough handling.
  4. Water Resistance: LDPE is inherently water-resistant, making it suitable for packaging materials that need to protect contents from moisture.
  5. Ease of Processing: LDPE is easy to process using methods such as extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding, enabling cost-effective production of various products.
  6. Lightweight: LDPE is a lightweight material, contributing to its use in applications where weight reduction is essential.
  7. Transparency: LDPE can be made transparent, which is beneficial for applications like clear plastic bags or packaging where visibility of the contents is important.
  8. Heat Sealing: LDPE has good heat-sealing properties, making it suitable for applications where airtight or watertight seals are required, such as in packaging.
  9. Insulation Properties: LDPE has good electrical insulation properties, contributing to its use in electrical applications.
  10. Recyclability: LDPE is recyclable, allowing for the reduction of environmental impact through recycling and reusing.

In summary, LDPE’s flexibility, chemical resistance, impact resistance, and ease of processing contribute to its widespread use in packaging, consumer products, and various industrial applications.
